Frequently Asked Questions

Meal plans cover food served in all campus dining halls. A plan covers food the Union Food Court and The Hill Grill only for "Late Night" events.

Twenty (20) meals per week are offered in the Campus Dining Halls - three per day, Monday through Saturday, and brunch and dinner on Sunday. Off-Campus 1, 2 and 3 may be purchased multiple times during a semester. These plans are available for purchase up to one month before the end of the semester.

Change your plan?

To change your plan, send an email to: housing@uark.edu telling us:

  1. Current meal plan
  2. Desired meal plan
  3. Your full name and UA ID number at the bottom of the email.

The new meal plan should go in effect within three business days.

You may change to a smaller meal plan through the 11th day of class. You may only increase your meal plan after that date.

Can I get a meal plan if I live off campus?

Absolutely! Meal plans help you save time, money and gas by providing a place to eat on your schedule right on campus.

What do I get with a Meal Plan?

No matter which plan you purchase, each has two components: Meals and Dining Dollars. Plan information is loaded on your student ID. All you need to do is present your card to a Chartwells cashier to spend meals or Dining Dollars.

Where do I get my meals?

Use your plan in any of the three Dining Halls. Located at the Northwest Quad, Brough Commons and Pomfret, the Halls are not anything like your parent's college dining experience. These are all-you-care-to-eat spots offering everything from custom pasta bowls, fresh veggies, entrees, and ethnic dishes to salads, pizzas, burgers and more.

What do I need to know about Dining Dollars?

Spend these in any Chartwells retail location to buy food and drinks. You can also use Dining Dollars to buy a guest meal in any Hall. They are re-loadable in two increments of $50 per semester.

What are Meal Trades and "Late Night"

During evening hours as posted at the Union Food Court and The Hill Grill, you may use a meal plan to purchase food. See the days, times and item guidelines for trades in each of these two locations.

Important to Remember

Meals and Dining Dollars expire at the end of each semester. So, it's a good idea to check your balance occasionally with a Chartwells cashier or the ID Office.
