6.2 Room and Hall Changes

If students wish to change rooms within their current assigned hall, they must receive authorization from University Housing Assignments staff before beginning any room changes.

No room changes may be approved before the 11th day of classes each fall.

Race, national origin, age, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, or religion will not be considered in making roommate assignments.

Residents who change rooms improperly will be assessed a charge and may have to return to their original room.

Students may not sublet, allow others to live in their contracted spaces or make any other modifications which permit someone else to live in the spaces within the residence halls.

Hall and Room Changes

Hall and room change requests are only considered after the 11th day of classes.

If a resident wants to be placed on a waiting list for a single room or double room in a different residence hall, they can go to the Housing contracting portal after the 11th day of classes.

University Housing considers these requests on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on the hall requested and the date/time the name is added to the waiting list.

Space availability will be considered for approvals to change room assignments. Approved room change requests may be delayed allowing for proper cleaning and sanitizing of rooms.

Remember, if a resident has a Resident Reserved Parking permit, it may not transfer to their new parking zone. Residents must contact Transit and Parking to verify a new parking zone.
