SPEAK: Peer Educator
Position Overview

A SPEAK peer educator role is to develop and implement educational initiatives about sexual assault prevention, including bystander intervention, consent, and healthy relationships, to create a culture of response among on-campus students.
This position will be available for application in January 2025!
Employment Information
Time Commitment
The position begins on August 1, 2024, and ends no later than May 14, 2025. 15 hour per week time commitment while the university is in session in the fall and spring semesters. Mandatory training sessions will take place prior to both the fall and spring semesters.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered as a SPEAK peer educator, applicants must have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 Be enrolled as a full-time student (12 credits or more undergraduate and 9 hours graduate) and make academic progress toward graduation. SPEAK Peer Educators may not carry more than 18 credit hours per semester or more than one evening class per semester unless prior permission is granted by the supervisor. Attend weekly meetings. Specific meeting times and dates will be determined by the start of fall training. Complete and pass the University of Arkansas Background Check and Drug Screen process.
Compensation
University Housing provides each SPEAK Peer Educator with a scholarship amounting to the average cost of a double room on campus and a 15plus meal plan.
