Reid Hall
Coordinator for Residence Education Welcome Letter
Welcome to Reid! As one of three First-Year Experience halls on the UA campus, we house approximately 450 female first and second-year students, 16 Resident Assistants and one professional Coordinator for Residence Education. Reid is also home to two RESPECT interns who are part of a peer-education group that is operated through the Pat Walker Health Center. Students involved with RESPECT work to educate their peers on issues related to sexual assault and relationship violence. All student rooms are newly renovated and include hardwood floors and moveable furniture.
Additionally, we are located only a few minutes from the Northwest Quad dining center and from one of several computer labs on campus. For those trips a little further across campus, Razorback Transit serves as a safe and convenient source of transportation and the bus stops right in front of the building!
If you decide to call Reid your home, you are invited to participate in the First-Year Experience program. The FYE program includes activities designed to help you succeed in your first year of college, both in and out of the classroom. Its goals include helping you become active in the UA and Fayetteville communities and getting you the help you need to succeed academically. Each area of the program is addressed through bulletin boards, activities facilitated by Reid staff members and invitations to attend other activities across campus.
The staff at Reid prides itself in establishing "genuine relationships" with residents in order to achieve these goals and to help students through their first year on campus. It is our hope that if you decide to stay with us, you leave with great friendships that will last throughout college and hopefully for the rest of your life!
Sincerely,
Tamika Wordlow
Coordinator for Residence Education
