Hello and Welcome to Gregson Lodge!
Here at the University of Arkansas, we are committed to offering our residents and neighbors the best on-campus experience possible. You'll find that each of our residence halls is just as unique as the people who call them home each year. Gregson Lodge is no exception to this.
First built in 1948, Gregson Lodge has been standing proudly at the top of Dickson Street for nearly 60 years. Because of the geographic convenience of living atop "The Hill," Gregson residents have long enjoyed living only a short walk from our door to their classes in Science & Engineering, Bell, Physics, Kimpel, and Walton College of Business to name a few. Our location also puts us closest to the Arkansas Union, Brough Dining Hall and the Fine Arts Building. Such proximity has allowed for Gregson residents to attend their clubs' weekly meeting at the Union, grab a quick bite to eat, and take in a performance at the University Theater all within a very short walking distance.
Our building offers its own big-screen TV, pool table and ping-pong table in addition to our free community laundry room. The Gregson kitchen is the best one on campus as well. We have wi-fi in our basement common areas and a community printer at the front desk that you can access from your room's computer. In addition to our three private study/meeting rooms, Gregson also enjoys its own access to the Enhanced Learning Center, which is housed in our basement. During the school year, Gregson residents work as Late-Night Study Hall coordinators at the ELC, providing for additional access to computers and study rooms after hours (9pm - 2am) just for our residents and their guests.
While Gregson is one of the finest buildings on campus, its programs and traditions are also some of the best around. As an upperclassman you will have no problem getting involved with the leadership opportunities specific to this community, and you'll benefit from our staff's efforts along with our campus partners, to provide meaningful opportunities to better your health and personal life. You'll be sure to enjoy Tuesday Night Movie Night hosted by the Gregson Film Committee, as well as the Annual Gregson Goulfest (Halloween Party) sponsored by Gregson Senate. Our Spring Poker Tournament always draws a big crowd and we always haul off tons of trash from the most beautiful campus in Arkansas on Gregson Campus Clean-Up Day. We have also enjoyed being greatly involved in all Homecoming events each year, and were crowned the overall Homecoming Champion in 2006.
We expect our residents to continue to uphold the Principles of the University. The five ideals are Integrity, Mutual Respect, Inquiry, Citizenship, and Connection. We believe that these ideals are the foundation for creating a successful residential and campus community.
