2010-2011 On Campus Housing Planning Guide

Welcome to the University of Arkansas!

If you are interested in living on campus during the 2010-2011 academic year, this Guide is your starting point. The links to your left include information about how to get your room and roommate. There are also brief descriptions of the residence halls, our staff, services and programs, and a glimpse into what living on-campus is all about. This is the business side - the fun starts when you move in and begin to write your history at the University of Arkansas!

Got questions? If you have questions any time during the assignment process, we would be happy to assist you. Just call (479) 575-3951 Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Central Standard Time and ask for the assignments staff or email us at housing@uark.edu.

Flowchart explaining steps to getting a room

Once you are admitted to the U of A your first step is to login to the online contract by going here. $235 is due at contract signing. You may pay online with a credit card.

In the spring you will use Shop-N-Swap to select a residence hall and room. To participate in Shop-N-Swap you must first complete a contract.

MyChecklist is the primary way we will communicate with you. We recommend you check MyChecklist every week for updates and/or changes. MyChecklist will show you what you have completed and what you still need to do.

Starting in Spring 2010

Roommate Profiler is OPTIONAL and may be used to create a roommate group with a specific roommate or search for a roommate and then create a roommate group. It is important to create your roommate group BEFORE you choose your room. Roommate Profiler will be available on the Housing Website and MyChecklist in early spring.

Your date and time to access Shop-N-Swap will be posted to MyChecklist. If you choose your room before you create a roommate group, your roommate WILL NOT automatically be put in the same room. If you create a roommate group after you have selected a room, one of you will have to log into Shop-N-Swap and choose a new room for both of you.

After Shop-N-Swap, login to MyChecklist to choose your move-in date and time and to be put on the waiting list for Resident Reserved Parking. Roommate information, your room phone number, mailing address and staff information will be posted to Shop-N-Swap during the summer of 2010. Check a couple times a week to stay up-to-date!
