Connecting your Apple iOS mobile device

UARK Wi-Fi is the recommended network for UARK users, offering unrestricted and secure access to all Web locations and services.

IT Services supports a number of mobile devices including iPhone, iPad and Windows Phone 7. Limited support is available for Androids due to the variety of operating systems available for these devices. IT Services does not support Blackberry.

Apple iOS Mobile Setup

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi. Tap On.
  3. Select UARK Wi-Fi from the list of available networks.

  2. Select the wireless network by tapping the arrow on the right.
    • Note: For iOS 7.1.2, this is not an arrow, but a blue icon of an "i" in a circle.
  3. Tap Forget this Network.

Follow the setup instructions above to create a new connection.

Known Issues

Wireless Throughput

Wireless is a shared medium. Devices in use on the same access point can affect the speed at which you connect. Legacy devices that connect to access points can cause newer devices that support faster speeds to instead connect at the slower speed. This is expected functionality. We recommend using the 5 GHz frequency, rather than 2.4 GHz, if your device supports it.
