Welcome to the start of the Resident Assistant (RA) process.
On behalf of the RA Recruitment and Selection Committee, we want to thank you for your interest in joining the Resident Assistant Team and becoming a part of Residence Education and University Housing!
Resident Assistants play a vital role within the residence halls, and they are integral in developing a positive and supportive community for all residents.
Being a RA is an opportunity of a lifetime, and we encourage you to apply. It is a unique position that will challenge, inspire, and motivate you. It also provides financial support for the present and valuable skills and work experience for the future.
There are three different types of Resident Assistant positions: the Traditional RA (pdf), the Academic RA (pdf), and the Citizenship RA (pdf). All RAs have common or "traditional" job responsibilities, and some RAs will work in halls designed around particular interests, such as engineering, business, global perspectives, or the freshman year experience. The application and hiring process for each type of position is the same. If you have specific questions we encourage you to attend one of the information sessions offered. Otherwise, please email housing@uark.edu and we will do our best to answer your question(s).
