  2. After you have completed your online contract you may print the confirmation page to present to the cashier the first few times you enter the dining hall until your meal plan can be activated on your card.

Meal plans are available for use in any Campus Dining Hall and/or the Union Food Court and The Hill Grill for "Late Night" only. Twenty (20) meals per week are offered in the Campus Dining Halls - three per day Monday through Saturday and brunch and dinner on Sunday. Off-Campus 1, 2 & 3 may be purchased multiple times during a semester up to one month before the end of the semester.

If you're living off campus, you're probably trying to budget to cover all sorts of living expenses. Meal Plans can help you save money versus eating off campus or buying meals in the Dining Halls one at a time. You also save gas and your parking space!

What do I get with a Meal Plan?

No matter which plan you purchase, each has two components: MEALS and FLEX$. Plan information is loaded on your student ID. All you need to do is present your card to a Chartwells cashier to spend meals or Flex$.

Where do I get my meals?

Use your plan in any of the three Dining Halls. Located at the Northwest Quad, Brough Commons and Pomfret, the Halls are not anything like your parent's college dining experience. These are all-you-care-to-eat spots offering everything from custom pasta bowls, fresh veggies, entrees, and ethnic dishes to salads, pizzas, burgers and more.

What do I need to know about Flex$?

Spend these in any Chartwells retail location to buy food and drinks. You can also use Flex$ to buy a guest meal in any Hall. They are re-loadable in two increments of $50 per semester.

What are Meal Trades and "Late Night"

During evening hours as posted at the Union Food Court and The Hill Grill, you may use a plan meal to purchase food. See the days, times and item guidelines for trades in each of these two locations.

Change your mind about your plan?

You have up to the 11th day of class to make a change. Simply email housing@uark.edu with details of your change and include your student ID number, name and phone.

No problem! To address celiac, food allergy, religious or vegetarian preferences, see your Dining Hall Director or contact our offices:

Important to Remember

Meals and Flex$ expire at the end of each semester. So, it's a good idea to check your balance occasionally with a Chartwells cashier or the ID Office.
